The kit can be used for both S/P-DIF (optical and electrical) and AES/EBU formats. The circuit uses the Crystal CS8406 chip, and supports resolutions up to 24 bits and sample rates from 32 to 192kHz. The board can be used both in stand-alone/hardware mode and together with a microcontroller (software mode). The kit is also available without the AES/EBU (XLR) output. The kit uses SMD parts, so some SMD experience may be needed to assemble the kit. No "small" parts are used - the smallest pin spacing is 1.27mm. |
